How To Find The Best MLM Leads

Let's cut to the chase. Here's what most of you want to know - What are the best MLM leads and how do I get them?

Let's look at this in a slightly different way - in an ideal world what would make someone the best lead for your MLM business? The obvious answer would be - 'someone who joins my team'. That could be right, but how many of you have had people join your team and do nothing? I have and I bet you have too. It happens to us all. Even seemingly good candidates will join and you will have great expectations for them and they'll still do nothing. So the best MLM leads are not necessarily just the ones who convert into team members.

OK, so the best MLM leads must be those who join your team and start producing regular orders? That's a good start and certainly helps with your group volume figures from which you will make commission but if everyone you found just put big orders in would this create the best business model for you? I would suggest that it would be good for a while but the day will come when, for whatever reason, those regular order start to drop off. Without being morbid, we all get older and eventually depart this planet so some day your team members may 'retire' or do less as they get older or, god forbid, die off! This is just an extreme example projected over many years but if all your team members were good retailers, then one day you would face the problem that sales inevitably started to dwindle and eventually disappear, given enough time. If you had retailers and no team builders you would eventually end up back at square one with no business.

So are the best MLM leads the ones that will become team-builders? You might think these are the best people to go after. It would certainly combat the problem above where you have a lot of people front-line but no depth to your business. However, if everyone just built a team but no one retailed any products ten you could have a huge organisation producing zero, or a tiny amount of sales and your slice of the commission pie would be zero or very tiny indeed!

We all know that in reality you will probably end up with a mixture of team builders and retailers so you will have some solid sales from the retailers and also a bit of depth to your business from the team builders. In an ideal world if everyone did a bit of retailing and a bit of team building then your team would be perfect and would look like all those charts and circles that you so often see on opportunity videos!

I would suggest that the best MLM leads are those that know that you need a balance between retailing and team building whether they would end up doing that themselves or not, but at least if they understand this then they are more likely to build a stable team which has that balance themselves.


OK, anyone could know this because you could tell them when you talk to them about joining your team, but I would suggest that it is best if they are already familiar with the concept of Network Marketing / MLM. Now I'm not saying that people with no background in MLM do not make good candidates for your business - every industry needs fresh blood and we all had to start somewhere. All I'm saying is that if you are serious about building a large, stable, profitable network marketing business the main people you should be looking for are experienced network marketers. If you have a mix of prospecting activities you will probably find a wide range of other people too, including the newbies and retail-only people but if you concentrate on finding experienced network marketers you have the best chance of long-term success.

Think about it - they know the score, they've been over the course before, they will probably do a bit of retailing because they know it is vital to keep the products moving, they'll be experienced at prospecting and team-building and they may well have a network of contacts that are also in the network marketing industry.

Now, what I'm NOT saying is that we should all go out and start poaching people from other Network Marketing companies. That would just be chaos! However, there will always be a certain amount of people who are not happy in their current company and who will be actively looking to move, or at least open to the possibility of looking at a new opportunity. You will also find that some people have dropped out of network marketing for a while and are looking to get back in. Perhaps they 'failed' the first time but still see the potential in an MLM business and want to give it another go. These type of people are the best MLM leads.

So what if we could add in some other criteria to our 'best MLM leads'?

We all know that, depending how you do it, lead generation can be a costly business. Some people spend fortunes on it whether they go Route 1 and simply buy leads or whether they spend money on various advertising campaigns. It all adds up and can be very expensive. So in addition to fitting the bill in terms of knowledge of the industry and past experience, if a lead was FREE then that must be an even better MLM lead. Obviously!

Would there be any other criteria which could make the lead better?

Well, instead of you going out and spending a lot of time and effort tracking down these good leads, what if they found you and identified themselves to you instead? Wow! That would be perfect surely?

A free lead, with good knowledge of the industry and the right experience coming to YOU!
